{"id":794,"date":"2014-08-11T15:43:06","date_gmt":"2014-08-11T16:43:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.iom-sui.ch\/wordpress\/?p=794"},"modified":"2014-08-11T15:43:06","modified_gmt":"2014-08-11T16:43:06","slug":"iom-ica-2015-agm-notices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.iom-sui.ch\/wordpress\/iom-ica-2015-agm-notices\/","title":{"rendered":"IOM ICA 2015 AGM Notices"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p><strong>September 14, 2014<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>Resolutions for an ordinary or annual meeting of the\u00a0<em>World Council\u00a0<\/em>shall be specified to the IOM ICA Secretary in writing at least 10 weeks before the meeting at which they are to be proposed<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Sooner is better.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0September 28:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At least 8 week\u2019s notice in writing shall be given of any ordinary or annual\u00a0<em>World Council\u00a0<\/em>meeting by the IOM ICA Secretary to the members of the\u00a0<em>World Council<\/em>, together with a<em>\u00a0<\/em>copy of the agenda for the meeting and of any resolutions which are to be proposed at the<em>\u00a0<\/em>meeting<\/p>\n<p><strong>October 26, 2014:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Four (4) weeks before any meeting of the\u00a0<em>World Council<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Member NCAs and NCSs\u00a0<\/em>shall declare in writing to the IOM ICA Secretary, by boat number and owner\u2019s name, the\u00a0<em>Registered Owners<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Registered Boats<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Certificated Owners<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>Certificated Boats\u00a0<\/em>that the\u00a0<em>Member NCA or NCS\u00a0<\/em>represents<\/p>\n<p><strong>November 23. 2014:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Meeting Day. The meeting is virtually all about totaling any votes submitted and reporting the outcome.<\/p>\n<p>There needs to be a change to this procedure to allow for discussion of proposals and maybe some time for proposing amendments before each NCA takes its own internal vote from its members. You will recall that we have had a couple of instances in the last few years where resolutions were defeated instead of amended when the kernel of the resolution was fine but some of the detail not so much. We\u2019ll see if we can come up with some proposal to alter how that all works.<\/p>\n<p>Remember that the NCAs are the members of IOM ICA so any suggestions or amendments will always have to come through members in good standing (I think that is all of you at this point) and not from individual sailors.<\/p>\n<p>So there you are. The clock is starting to tick and please submit any resolutions as soon as you have them prepared so that the appropriate Sub Committee can review them and have them put on the agenda.<\/p>\n<p>If you have question please ask them as they come to you.
